Opening Letter

דר' דפנה וילנר - מנהלת מח' הרדמה.jpg

Two years have passed since we last convened. I am privileged to invite you to the upcoming annual Israel Society of Anesthesiology conference, to be held on December 12-13, 2024, in Jerusalem’s Orient Hotel.

The profound collective national pain and loss since the massacre of Simchat Torah, October 7th, 2023, and the start of the ensuing war has affected each and every one of us. Yet, from that pain and loss emerged so many acts of heroism and such an inspiring spirit of volunteerism. Countless civilian domestic and foreign volunteers set their jobs and personal lives aside and rose to help Israel in her time of need. In hospitals across the country, anesthesiologists from Israel and abroad played a central role in treating the steady influx of wounded on both the battlefront and the home front. And all the while, though understaffed, we continued to provide quality care for the usual flow of elective and emergency cases.

This year’s conference will feature lectures by world-renown Israeli and visiting clinicians and researchers, practical anesthesia workshops, and compelling insights and eye-opening lessons learned in recent months on the battlefield and in Israel’s trauma centers.

This conference is our opportunity to meet, mingle, enrich our professional knowledge, expand our inter-institutional and international cooperative efforts, and salute the sacrifice and dedication of anesthesiologists during these challenging times.

Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you!
